Our story….

Luboos is a portmanteau of Lulu and Luis’ Boots. Lulu and Luis are both lifelong dancers and also designers at JB Cases. They thought why not apply that expertise to dance boots? Lulu brought 17 years of experience, gained from listening to her ocd husband who constantly complained about every detail, from construction to decoration. Luis brought the Broadway knowledge and the workshop connection. Together, they went to a shoe-making town in Columbia and partnered with a second-generation shoemaker to create the best can-can style character shoes on the market. Luboos was born.

“When I am working on a problem, I never think about beauty but when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong.”

– R. Buckminster Fuller

Lulu’s goal is to build the best version of this boot that exists. She worked for months perfecting the construction, strengthening the heel through a new shape and utilizing tough and durable polymers reinforced with a steel rod. Inspired by the movie Kinky Boots, she was determined to make a boot that supports dancers and drag queens of any size and energy. Lulu’s eye for quality, developed through making heirloom-quality, high-end, leather pool cue cases for 17 years, was turned towards the smallest details. The result rivals any brand for elegance and class. The construction provides dancers with the reliable durability and support needed to get through endless hours of rehearsals. And when showtime arrives your Luboos give you confidence to move intricately and precisely across the stage.

You might like the way Luboos look but you will love the way they work. Lulu and Luis have used and studied what was the best. They poured their love of dance into making these boots a part of your body. Go ahead and point, the flexible split sole made of durable suede will let you. Triple pirouette and come to an abrupt stop on the heel? The reinforced Roxy Style heel will let you. Our story is that we love to perform and watch those who love to dance. We succeed when you forget you have boots on as you intricately flow across the stage.
